The OPTURASPY is a bio-reflectance sensor, which emits near-infrared light from the sensor into the medium of the bioreactor. Cells in the medium will reflect the light, which is then returned to the sensor. The intensity of the reflected light directly correlates with the overall cell density. This measurement can be conveniently adjusted to match any familiar offline reading.
